We photographed Navy Federal Credit Union’s two-day awards show and gala at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, capturing a large-scale corporate celebration welcoming more than 2,500 attendees.
Our team provided event photography and content creation, documenting everything from stage programming and guest arrivals to experiential activations, entertainment, and after-party moments. The goal was to create a comprehensive visual library Navy Federal can use for internal communications, marketing, press, and future event promotion.
The first day began with photographing the event design and environmental details before guests arrived, capturing the scale and production of the space. This included digital signage, trophies, red carpet entrances, and wide architectural views of the awards show stage and concourse, highlighting the scope of the venue.
As guests arrived, we documented registration, networking, and candid interactions throughout the reception areas. During the awards program, we photographed the main stage from multiple angles, capturing speakers at the podium, award presentations, audience reactions, and wide shots of the full stage production. Portrait stations and trophy moments provided polished imagery of award recipients and attendees.
The evening concluded with a post-program reception, where guests continued celebrating and connecting. A standout detail was the champagne skirt performer, serving glasses of champagne while interacting with guests and adding a theatrical touch to the experience.
The second evening expanded into a large-scale gala experience for 2,500 guests, featuring dramatic event design and multiple guest activations throughout the convention center. Before doors opened, we photographed room details, tablescapes, digital signage, the main gala stage, satellite stage, VIP tables, and specialty installations, capturing the scale and production behind the event.
Guests arrived through a grand red carpet entrance framed by chandeliers, bold lighting, and sweeping drapery, moving into an opening reception with cocktails, networking, and interactive experiences. The space featured several standout design elements including the Wall of Fame installation displaying award winners’ portraits, a mega bar, live Golden Muse and Oscars-style statues, specialty cocktail activations, portrait stations, and Glambot experiences.
During the gala program, we documented the National Anthem performed by a Navy Federal Credit Union employee, award presentations, an opening dance performance, keynote speakers, and one of the evening’s most anticipated moments—the announcement of the Lockard Award recipient.
Following dinner, guests passed through dramatic drapery into the after-party, where the celebration continued with a live band, expansive dance floor, saxophone performances, specialty cocktails, portrait stations, Glambot activations, and a hidden speakeasy lounge for up to 500 guests. The speakeasy featured a secret entrance, adding an element of discovery, and a picture frame wall of iconic Hollywood stars, where guests opened frames to reveal specialty cocktails hidden behind the artwork. Inside, a live saxophonist kept the energy high as guests gathered, danced, and celebrated the finale of the two-day event.
