Hannah and Kyle’s summer wedding at Spring Ranch in Little River, California was a DREAM. Not only because it took place next to the beautiful Northern CA Pacific coast and the redwoods, but because Hannah is one of my dear friends!
Hannah and I met during a photo session we did together in Los Angeles five years ago (see it HERE!). We clicked so much that we stayed in touch throughout the year and ended up going on a west coast road trip with her friend Natalie (and now one of my dear friends) the following summer! I still have yet to post the images from the west coast road trip, but HERE is a quick 5 min session we did in Seattle.
This wedding was special for so many reasons, but let me only give you a few or else this blog post would be way too long. First, Hannah and Kyle inspire me with the love and dedication they have for each other. I shoot A LOT of weddings, but the way Hannah and Kyle treat and look at each other is different and powerful to witness. They treat each other so well and spread even more joy and laughter when they’re together than when they’re by themselves – which is hard to believe if you know them because they both exude so much joy on their own.
Their wedding weekend re-inspired me in how to better love the people in my life. I know this is supposed to be about Hannah and Kyle, but quick shout out to Hannah and Kyle’s parents. Watching how both of them interacted, took care of, respected, and loved on each other throughout the wedding day was one of the most impactful takeaways from the weekend for me. To see that it’s even possible for two couples who have been married for so long to still be so damn in love has stayed with me ever since.
Eric and I also did our first wedding video for them. While I photographed the wedding, Eric did video on my equipment with me also getting some video throughout the day. I edited the video and included it at the end of this post!
Hannah and Kyle, thank you for including and trusting me in this day. I love you both so much and can’t wait for more adventures to come 🙂
Hannah wore her mom’s veil, which made the getting ready portion of the day so special and emotional.
This is Hannah’s dad’s old car that they spent MONTHS working on before the wedding day so that Hannah could ride it to the ceremony. It was only able to run for a few minutes before shutting it off, but they got it done and it worked beautifully!!
The sweetest reaction. You have to check out the video below to see Kyle’s full reaction!
Poppies in Hannah’s bouquet for the new last name Poppinga!!
Hannah and Kyle are both incredible singers. Kyle’s siblings all sing, so his brother and sister stepped on stage for Kyle’s dance with his mom. Such a special moment!
We stepped to the side after toasts for “sunset pictures,” which was definitely replaced by the fog. We weren’t mad about it at all!
One of Kyle’s close friends is in a band, so they performed the entire night. I would definitely recommend live bands to any of my future couples – they bring so much energy into the room and guests loved it!!
And here’s the first wedding video Eric and I did below!!
